Clean Up Portland Harbor

Most people associate a sixteenth birthday with getting a driver’s license or a Sweet 16 party. Not toxic fish. After 16 long years, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released a Draft Cleanup Plan for Portland Harbor—the Willamette River’s most contaminated area and just upstream of the Columbia. I’ll cut to the chase: Under the plan, the vast majority of pollutants will remain in the river, and some species of the river's fish will remain too toxic to eat forever.

Unacceptable. Your voice can move EPA to adopt a stronger and more protective cleanup plan for the Portland Harbor. Submit a public comment today.

The Portland Harbor corporations responsible for this mess profited while dumping toxic pollution into the Willamette. Now is our chance to ensure the EPA holds industry accountable for a full river cleanup.  Turn your anger into action: Tell the EPA to fix the draft cleanup plan and protect the Willamette and Columbia rivers from Portland Harbor pollution.
