Coal Workshop

Right now we have a critical opportunity to stop dirty coal from coming through our communities -- from putting our air, water, and health at risk. Decision makers are gearing up to make a decision on the fate of the proposed coal export in Longview, and they want to hear from you!

The draft Environmental Impact Statement (draft EIS) on Millennium’s proposed coal export terminal is slated be released on April 29th and the public hearing is on May 24th from 1:00-9:00PM at the Cowlitz Expo Center.

Don’t miss this opportunity to shape our region’s energy future. Coal companies like Millennium Bulk Terminals are threatening our health and safety and the economic vitality of our region for their own private gain. Coal trains pollute the air with coal dust and diesel exhaust. Health experts link coal and diesel pollution to asthma, heart disease, and lung cancer. We deserve clean air, not new sources of air pollution in our communities.

RSVP now for a Coal Exports Workshop informing you on the key points in the draft EIS and how to create effective public comments.

Decision makers are accepting public comments, as well as holding public hearings on the draft EIS. At this workshop, you’ll learn not only what’s at stake but also how you can be a powerful spokesperson for your community, our region, and our future.

Coal is a dirty fossil fuel. The transport and storage will impact our local communities and the burning of the coal will contribute to more global warming pollution.

Together, we can make sure that these public hearings send a clear message to decision makers that we're concerned for our communities, our region, and our planet. We're not going to stop fighting until all the proposed coal terminals in the Northwest are taken off the table.

Thank you for all you do and look forward to seeing you at the workshop!
