January Member spotlight: John and Margaret Green

John and Margaret Green of Longview, WA.

Defending the Columbia River from irresponsible development and illegal pollution depends on a strong network of citizen advocates. For 10 years, John and Margaret Green have been outstanding partners with Columbia Riverkeeper on campaigns to keep LNG and coal export off the Columbia, stop illegal dumping, and prevent an oil refinery and a propane export terminal from calling Longview home. The Greens served on the board of Landowners and Citizens for a Safe Communitya successful citizen group taking on the most difficult environmental issues in the Pacific Northwest. They’ve served on the board of the Willapa Hills Audubon Society and provided
critical public oversight to various councils and commissions throughout Cowlitz County. Many victories for clean water on the Columbia River can be tied to the Greens' commitment to the environment and Columbia Riverkeeper. Thank you John and Margaret Green!
