New! Join Riverkeeper in using iNaturalist app to track native and invasive species

How to log observations in iNat Missing media item.Riverkeeper is excited to introduce iNaturalist as our new method for logging and sharing plant and animal observations along the Columbia River. Adopt-a-River volunteers and other interested community members are encouraged to take pictures, log observations, and share them with our online community to help us to track and monitor the native and non-native species that call the Columbia home. iNaturalist is a great tool for sharing data, getting help with identifications, and connecting with a vibrant online community. Think of it as the Facebook for nature nerds! Create a login at www.inaturalist.org and search for our project "Columbia Riverkeeper Adopt-a-River."

Everyone is welcome to use iNaturalist, so head to the river and see what you can find. Just be sure to log your observations under our project! iNaturalist features both desktop and mobile platforms, and it can be used both with and without connectivity. If you aren’t connected to Wi-Fi the app just needs to be synched upon re-connection. For help with iNaturalist visit https://www.inaturalist.org/pages/help. It’s easy to use, but if you need help the video tutorials are great!
