Movin' on up!

Letter from Brett VandenHeuvel, Riverkeeper's Executive Director

With our recent success and our growing staff, it is time to move into a new office! We found a wonderful new space in the heart of downtown Hood River that provides great exposure for our work. The affordable building offers a convenient place for social gatherings, presentations, and meetings. And, I should say, quick access to the river. Our office will feature a water quality laboratory on the main floor that is open to the public. After 15 years in our old Hood River office (first as Columbia River United), it was time for a change. Riverkeeper's staff covers a lot of territory working to protect the big river. It's impossible to find a perfect office location, but we think Hood River is conveniently located between the important work in the Estuary, Vancouver/Portland, the Gorge, Hanford, Lake Roosevelt, and points upstream, while providing access to the many government offices we frequent in Olympia and Salem.

We're excited about turning our new location into a welcoming public space. Stay tuned for information on an office warming party, or just stop by after October 1st. Fall is a lovely time in the Gorge!
