CATWALK FOR WATER 2015: EVENING 4 EARTH EVENT
This Thursday, April 23, 2015, marks the fifth year Aveda Institute Portland raises funds for Columbia Riverkeeper. With over $75,000 in past fundraising, they hope to bring in another $25,000 with their Catwalk for Water event. The Catwalk for Water event will include three live fashion installations with work by students, staff and special guest artists, The Dosha Creative Team. The night will also include live-demos via our talented instructor staff, photo-booths,  live music and beer and wine bars provided by Full Sail Brewing and Copa Di Vino, with all proceeds go to Columbia Riverkeeper.

  • Tickets $20 for students, $25 for non-students,  $30 at the door

Local Business Supports Local Community
Throughout the month Aveda Institute Staff and Students will be furthering their efforts to make the $25,000 goal with various bake sales and via Crowdrise, a  fundraising website, which can be found at http://crowdrise.com/evening4earth for direct donations.

 

EARTH MONTH
Why just celebrate Earth Day? How about Earth Month? The fine folks at Aveda are once again raising funds for Columbia Riverkeeper

the whole month of April and having a lot of fun doing it. Visit an Aveda Salon, Experience Center or Institute in Oregon or the Vancouver, WA area and you can treat yourself AND support clean water. Aveda’s commitment to clean water and being a good corporate citizen is evident all year long but showcased in April across the country. The funds they raise support water quality monitoring and holding polluters accountable. We are very grateful to be the local beneficiary of their fun fabulous efforts.

If you are not in the region this April, but you are near another Aveda salon or store, it is likely they are working with another local conservation organization and no doubt planning some fun events. If you are in the Portland area we hope to see you at one of these events or be sure to visit your local Aveda, treat yourself to some of their amazing products and let them know you appreciate their efforts!

Aveda Gives Back
Since 1999 the Aveda network, including salons, spas and schools across the country, have been raising awareness and funds for Earth Month. Since then the network has collectively raised over $32-million dollars that go to a variety of organizations that help protect clean water locally and around the world. Aveda also releases a seasonal Earth Month light the Way Candle with 100 percent of the profits going to better the water in over 70 countries in need. For Aveda and its partners, earth month is not just a day but a part of our mission as a whole.
