Public Comment: Will ConnectOregon funds Subsidize Coal and Oil »

July 21st, 2014: [ July 21, 2014 1:00 pm to August 10, 2014 1:00 pm. ] The Oregon Department of Transportation is slated to subsidize oil and coal transportation infrastructure and it’s up to Governor Kitzhaber and the Oregon Transportation Commission (OTC) to block this gross misuse of public funds. Subsidizing coal export and crude oil shipping is not an appropriate use of ConnectOregon funds. The Oregon Transportation Commission should not approve applications to re-build the dock at Port Westward and alter the rail infrastructure along A-Street in Rainier because ConnectOregon funds should not subsidize coal and crude oil shipping.

River Prayer Vigil: Cowlitz County »

July 21st, 2014: [ August 3, 2014; 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. ] This vigil is one of sixteen being planned all along the Columbia from the mouth in Astoria to the source in Canada to mark the renewal of the treaty between the US and Canada governing the river. We want to offer our prayers and support for a healthier river system ensuring abundant wildlife habitat for generations to come.
