On August 20, 2016, Columbia Riverkeeper celebrated the 2016 Love Your Columbia Day with community river cleanups, invasive species eradication, and restoration projects in local communities along the Columbia. Thank you to our partners for making it such a successful to to give back to the Columbia River and its tributaries.

Together, here’s what we accomplished:

  • Organized participants & volunteers: 160+ attendees
  • Number of events from the British Columbia to the Estuary: 16
  • Removed invasive species from the Columbia: 3+ truckloads
  • Collected & removed litter from the Columbia: 3,556 pounds of trash from tiny bottle caps to a big, metal safe from the riverside!

Thanks for showing the river your love! See the pictures here.

We’re tremendously grateful to all the volunteers and partner organizations that made this event possible including: All Adventures Rafting, Astoria Parks and Recreation, Billea Smith-Austin, Clark County Parks & Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership, Columbia Land Trust, David Tifft, ECOVA, Friends of the White Salmon, Gorge Fly Shop, Klickitat Trail Conservancy, Lake Windermere Ambassadors, Liv Smith Photography, Nature Connect NW, Riverside Community Church, SOLVE Oregon, and Vancouver Watershed Alliance.
