Vancouver: 1 - Big Oil: 0

On Monday, June 1, 2014, 700 people packed the Vancouver City Council meeting. At the top of the agenda was  a resolution opposing the Tesoro Savage mega-oil terminal at the Port of Vancouver. After 101 citizens testified (the majority in favor of the resolution), the council passed the resolution 5-2. The vote came in at nearly 1:30 AM. The resolution adopted by the city is one to celebrate. The city will  fight not only the Tesoro-Savage project, but all proposals that would result in an increase of Bakken crude oil being hauled through Clark County.

Thank you to everyone who signed petitions, held signs, testified in favor of this important resolution! Without your positive influence, we're ensuring that Big Oil doesn't get the red carpet treatment on the Columbia River!
