Lisa Muñoz (she/her or they/them) works in grant development, and previously worked in the Hanford outreach program. Her scientific background developed her love of discovery, sharing knowledge, and collaboration. Her passion for the health and safety of the Columbia River comes from being raised by two immigrant parents that cultivated a deep love and respect for nature and all it provides. She’s passionate about encouraging the public to use their power in creating change and educating her community about the threats to their environment.

What inspires you to do this work?

I grew up in the Gorge, and spent the large majority of my time outside with my family. The connection that I have to the food and land around me continues to inspire me today. Experiencing fear about the chemicals my family was exposed to while working in orchards and fishing in the river led me to this work. I am deeply grateful to my community and the connections I form working at Columbia Riverkeeper.
