Natalie Keenan

Natalie Keenan (she/her) serves as a Database & IT Specialist for Columbia Riverkeeper. She is focused on providing and maintaining the highest quality technical support and infrastructure to empower her teammates at Riverkeeper.

Natalie has over a decade of experience supporting small to medium sized teams, building tools and infrastructure that make unwieldy and intimidating tasks comfortable and straightforward. She is proud to continue that work here at Columbia Riverkeeper.

What inspires you to do this work?

I have a special connection with water. I have been drawn to the shore, to lakes, rivers and creeks since I was small. As a kid, I would sit in the bath until my hands and feet were pruny. When there were rainstorms my dad would take me out to play in the sheeting downpour. At the Jersey shore, I would play in the break for hours just to get sloshed around. These experiences were only safe and accessible thanks to community efforts to ensure that water was free and safe. As an adult, I want to make sure I am part of that work, so I’m proud to be part of the Columbia Riverkeeper team.
